Hygienic crimp stem machined from 316L stainless steel as a single piece, with a serrated hose shank at one end and a plain butt weld end at the other. The shank sits inside the hose bore and is retained by a matching hygienic crimp ferrule, giving a permanently attached hose end rather than a mechanical connection that can be taken apart in service. The weld end is sized to tube outside diameter, so it welds directly into stainless tube pipework.
This style suits food, dairy, beverage and pharmaceutical transfer where a smooth bore matters and flow capacity is a priority. The one piece body removes the internal joint you get between a separate shank and weld end, and welding straight into the line avoids the extra coupling and gasket a clamp or DIN style termination would need. It is the usual choice where a hose leg terminates into fixed stainless pipework rather than a demountable connection.
Crimp stems and ferrules are designed as a matched system, so use the ferrule specified for this stem and do not mix components from different manufacturers. Fittings of this type are not suitable for steam service at any pressure, and are not intended for cable reinforced high pressure hose or multi braid wire hydraulic hose. The working pressure of a finished assembly is the lower of the hose rating and the fitting rating, and the media carried must be compatible with 316L stainless steel. Follow the manufacturer's welding guidance when welding the stem into the line.
