Description

The BSP Male Serrated Hose Tail in brass is a highly durable and reliable fitting designed for securely connecting flexible hoses to BSP (British Standard Pipe) female threaded components. This fitting features a male BSP thread on one end, allowing it to be easily screwed into a compatible female threaded pipe, valve, or equipment. The other end of the fitting has a serrated, or barbed, hose tail, which is designed to be inserted into a hose, providing a strong and leak-proof connection.

Brass is an ideal material for this type of fitting due to its excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and ability to withstand high temperatures. Brass fittings are commonly used in plumbing, heating, and industrial applications due to their reliability and longevity. The natural properties of brass also make it suitable for use with a wide variety of fluids, including water, air, and some chemicals, ensuring versatility in different systems.

The serrated design of the hose tail creates multiple ridges that grip the inside of the hose, preventing it from slipping off, even under pressure. This design ensures a secure connection, which is essential for maintaining system integrity and preventing leaks. For added security, it is recommended to use a hose clamp to further reinforce the connection, especially in applications where the hose may be subject to high pressure or vibration.

Features & Benefits

  • Corrosion Resistance: Brass offers good resistance to corrosion and oxidation, making it suitable for use in various environments, including outdoor and marine applications.
  • BSP Male Threading: Features BSP (British Standard Pipe) male threads, ensuring compatibility and easy connection with BSP female-threaded components. This standardization allows for reliable and leak-free joints.
  • Serrated Hose Tail Design: The serrated design on the hose tail provides a secure grip on hoses, ensuring a tight and reliable connection. This feature prevents slippage and reduces the risk of leaks, maintaining system integrity.
  • Durable Construction: Brass construction provides strength and durability, allowing the hose tail to withstand high pressure and mechanical stress without deformation or failure.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for various industrial, plumbing, and agricultural applications where connecting hoses to pipes or equipment is required. The brass material offers a good balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness for these applications.

Application

BSP (British Standard Pipe) fittings are used in a wide range of applications due to their standardized thread forms, which ensure compatibility, reliability, and ease of installation. Some of the primary applications for BSP fittings include:

  • Plumbing Systems: BSP fittings are extensively used in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems for connecting pipes, faucets, valves, and fixtures in water supply and drainage systems.
  • Heating and Cooling Systems: These fittings are commonly used in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems to connect piping for hot water, steam, and cooling systems.
  • Oil and Gas Industry: In the oil and gas industry, BSP fittings are used in pipelines, refineries, and drilling rigs to connect pipes, valves, and other equipment, ensuring secure and leak-proof connections.
  • Pneumatic Systems: In pneumatic systems, BSP fittings connect air lines, valves, actuators, and other components involved in the automation and control processes of various industrial applications.
  • Agriculture: In agricultural applications, BSP fittings are used in irrigation systems, sprayers, and other equipment that requires durable and secure pipe connections.
